About Me

2.

Hello there. I'm Venkata Reddy, but everyone close to me calls me Kata. I'm a 19-year old Canadian-American first-year medical student studying in Hyderabad, India. I have recurring insomnia - therefore I'm a sleepless zombie. Ergo, the name of this blog ("scalpel" is for the medicine of course).

Here are some random facts about me:

  • I hate the color pink, and will go out of my way to avoid buying anything that has pink in it. There are always exceptions though. My favorite color is always changing among different shades of greenish blue.
  • The first video game I ever played was Quake. The second was Halo on my dad's colleague's computer when I went to their office for a christmas party.
  • I adore all sorts of animals including reptiles. I'm 100% a dog person. Great Dane and German Shepherds are my two favorite breeds. I have a very terrible fear of spiders that have over a centimeter diameter.
  • I love Volkswagen. I drive a Volkswagen Passat back home in Orlando.
  • I'm addicted to cranberry juice. I need it.
  • I'll always stick up for what I believe in. I'll always stick up for the people I care about, even if it means sacrificing myself or landing myself into trouble.
  • My favorite planet is, and always will be, Saturn.
  • I speak very loudly even when I'm whispering.
  • I like black and white animals. Pandas and zebras are my favorite.
  • I have a collection of stuffed animals because it makes me feel less lonely while studying.
  • I speak four languages, and understand five.
  • I'm attracted to people with passion for something, whether it may be about cooking or reading books - or even their career.
  • I'll watch shows over a movie any day.
  • I believe that Star Trek is better than Star Wars.
  • Mint chocolate chip ice cream is my favorite flavor in the whole world. And, I've tried quite a lot of ice cream flavors.
  • Obsessed with Indian sweets. Some of my favorites include: jalebi, kova jamun,  and khalakhand.
  • I have double-jointed pinky fingers.

That's all for now, until I can think of some more.
